JUST IN TIME (JIT) MATCHING GRANT

Award & Eligibility Criteria

Objective:

The objective of the DOUBLING DISCOVERY Matching Funds Program is to provide additional resources to faculty members of the School of Medicine to:

• Maximize the impact of their work leading to greater scientific advancements.

• Encourage collaboration to unlock new opportunities and accelerate innovation.

• Attract additional extramural funding from government agencies and private foundations.

• Obtain data that will significantly increase the impact of a publication.

DOUBLING DISCOVERY will provide additional resources for researchers that require statistical services from the AHEAD Institute, who have been awarded “Just-in-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program” Vouchers from the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) https://icts.wustl.edu/funding/just-in-time-jit/.

Eligibility:

-Applicants can be non-tenure track, tenure-track, or tenured faculty in the School of Medicine.

-Must receive a NoA from ICTS starting May 1, 2024.

 

Application process & Award details:

-After the NoA is received from the ICTS, the PI should apply through Open Water to the DOUBLING DISCOVERY program. 

-Applications are accepted on a rolling basis starting May 1, 2024.

-Applicants should provide justification for obtaining matching funds to cover additional AHEAD institute hours, including impact of data needed for grant applications and publications.

-Applicants should provide a detailed work plan describing what will be accomplished during the period of performance

-Applicants should attach a justification and a budget from the AHEAD institute on the need to use more hours to finalize the project.

-The SOM Office of Research matching contribution is 1:1 up to $5,000 (matching the award from the ICTS). 

-Awarded funds will be available to the PI for up to one (1) year and may not exceed available program funding.

-A progress report is required one (1) year after funding including:

         • Main results after the engagement with AHEAD institute

         • Proof of external publications (submitted or published)

         • Grant proposal submission (including submission materials)
