Mallinckrodt Grant Program

The Mallinckrodt Grant Award Program, through the Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. Foundation, is tailored for tenure-track faculty members in their first to fourth year at United States institutions, holding M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees. It aims to support these early-career scientists in establishing their research projects to a point where they can secure NIH R01 or other independent funding. The  grant provides $75,000 annually for a period of up to three years. Note that these grants are not renewable. 

Guidance for the Nomination Process 

 An internal competition will be held to assign the single slot. Interested investigators should submit a 1-2 page summary of their proposed project and Biosketch in NIH format by 5 p.m. June 10,2026. Please submit documents through SLU's OpenWater portal at the following link:  https://slu.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/246/home 

A SLU faculty selection committee will review and select the most suitable investigators and investigators will be notified of their results by ... barring any unforeseen circumstances.  If selected, the full proposal deadline is July 1, 2026.
