The Mallinckrodt Grant Program, (not to be confused with the Mallinckrodt Scholars Program) through the Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. Foundation, is a competitive funding opportunity designed to provide faculty members who hold M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees, and are in their first to fourth year of a tenure-track position and do not have current RO1 funding. Grants are usually $60,000 and funding commences on October 1. No indirect costs are allowed. Salary is acceptable.

An internal competition will be held to assign the university’s single slot. Interested investigators should submit a 1-2 page summary of their proposed project and Biosketch in NIH format by 5 p.m. May 27, 2022. Please submit documents as a single, combined PDF via OpenWater.

Investigators will be notified of their results by July 1, 2022 barring any unforeseen circumstances. If selected, the full proposal deadline is August 1, 2022.

A description of the Mallinckrodt Grant Program and proposal guidelines can be found here. A 1-2 page lay summary will be required in the final proposal and will be of particular importance to the non-scientific trustees of the foundation.
