Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program

Number of SLU slots: 1 faculty member

Internal Deadline: November 8, 2024

Application Deadline: January 30, 2025

The Award & Eligibility Criteria

The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program supports the research and teaching careers of talented early-career faculty in the chemical sciences. The Award, which requires an institutional nomination, is based on an independent body of scholarship attained in the early years of their appointment, and a demonstrated commitment to education, signaling the promise of continuing outstanding contributions to both research and teaching.

The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award provides an unrestricted research grant of $100,000.

The Awards Program is open to SLU faculty who meet all of the following criteria:

  • From Ph.D. granting departments

  • Hold a full-time tenure-track academic appointment focused on the chemical sciences

  • Are within the first six years of their independent academic careers at the time of submission of the nomination

Guidance for the Nomination Process

An internal competition will be held to assign a single slot. Interested faculty should submit a 1-2 page summary of their future research plans, and CV, through SLU’s OpenWater portal by 5 pm on November 8, 2024: https://slu.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/180/home

A SLU faculty selection committee will review and select the most suitable applicant and notify all applicants of the outcome by November 26, 2024, barring any unforeseen circumstances.  The Foundation’s nomination deadline is January 30, 2025.
