2027 Scholarly Works Awards 

The Office of the Vice President for Research invites all faculty to nominate works by SLU faculty at the junior and senior faculty levels in each of the following categories: 

• Books (does not include edited books, and only first edition) 

• Journal articles and Book Chapters  

  • Clinical 
  • Non-Clinical 

• Creative Works (e.g., artwork, theatrical productions, music compositions, poetry, works of fiction) 

• Public Works (e.g., op-eds, blog posts, popular press works rooted in scholarly practice intended for public consumption) 

Eligibility

Works must have been first published or released between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026. Works by all current and continuing SLU faculty are eligible. Faculty must be primary author or corresponding author. Only one submission per faculty member for each category.  

Guidance for the Nomination Process 

Nominators (including self-nominators) should submit their nomination and any supporting documentation in OpenWater by Tuesday, December 15th, at 11:59pm, using the following link. 

SLU faculty selection committees will review the nominations and select works for recognition in each category. It is anticipated that the Scholarly Works Awards reception, where the works will be recognized, will take place in April 2027.  Please contact Andrew Beppler, OVPR Program Manager, rdg@slu.edu with any questions.
